   Ladies Cricket Final!

BISC Ladies Cricket Team play in the Lancashire Women’s Cricket Association.

This season they reached the final of the LWCA Cup against Chorley Ladies CC.

This competition was played through the usual 30 overs format.

BISC were put into bat first and after a steady start reached 84 for 9 after 30 overs. Chorley, knowing what they had to beat, batted carefully and cautiously. Finally they made 85 for 2 after 24 overs.

The Ladies Plate Final between Blackpool CC & Burnely CC where Blackpool came out winners. (Check the Lancashire Women's Cricket Association Website for the scorers and a full report.)

All in all, these two competitions showed that cricket can be played in just as an exiting sporting spirit for girls and ladies as it is for boys and men.

Any ladies interested in playing cricket, you are more than welcome to come and join us, play cricket, make new friends and have a great social life.

BISC, working in partnership with Lancashire Councy Cricket Board, have now begun their 'Schools coaching tour" under the "A Chance To Shine Scheme (just for girls)"

It is hoped that a girl’s junior section will be a spin off from this initiative.
